Gnomish History is very rich and expansive. Not much is known about the ancient past of the gnomes since alot of our history books have been destroyed by ingnorant raiders looking for power and the technology of the gnomes. So ancient gnome history had turned into more of myth passed down by families. However, current history (ie the past thousands years or so) is very accurate and very elaborate. Most of the history and medical book in our library are written by the most honored gnomes in our past.
