After discussion with Rimoah, we have both come to a mutual agreement that I
shall take a temporary leave of absence from my studies within the Tower of
Wizardry. I am led to believe Rimoah is feeling a little envious of my work as
I cannot understand his rather peculiar excuse of my experiments conflicting
with the studies of my fellow wizards. In fact, it has been at least a month
since I last blew up the guildmaster's chambers so I cannot fathom the reason
for Rimoah's displeasure. Nonetheless, I shall travel to find somewhere else
where it may be possible to continue my experiments.

Entry 2 :
------------
Well, it has been several days and still no luck in finding even a temporary
abode to continue my studies. Even my fellow gnomes have turned upon me,
forbidding me to conduct my experiments within the homeland. Secretly I suspect
the gnomes are jealous that the Ultimate Gnome invention crafted by the Society
of Innovation pales in significance to my important experiments. I must
discover a place to continue on with my project lest my work remain incomplete,
falling into obscurity as is destained for all great unfinished projects.
Moving from the Gnomish homelands, I have travelled all over the realms in
search of the perfect place that will serve my needs. I thought I was in luck,
the swamplands to the east of Lirath seemed perfect. Quiet and remote, nobody
bothered me until some awful witchdoctor shouted something unintelligable and
sent me packing. If only there was a place similiar to those swamps yet
uninhabited.

Entry 3 :
------------
Met some awfully frightening gentlemen in the Thelbane cemetery north of Lirath
a couple of days ago. "Occultists" they called themselves, running about the
place all dressed in black and shouting "DIE" at the occasional person. I
steered well clear of those curious fellows and decided to head north along a
small path. The fog of the marshes I entered enveloped me like a blanket and
soon I was well and truly bewildered. Not even my trusty "Gnomish Magnetic
Field Directional Acquisition (tm)" equipment could help me from getting lost.
I've wandered through pools of mud that have almost sucked me to my death, and
forged my way through reeds only to almost be sliced to ribbons. It was
welcome relief when I stumbled across a small cottage that was seemingly
uninhabited. What luck, it was the perfect place for my experiments.
------------
Entry 4 :
------------
Quite a curious little cottage. Almost as if the inhabitant left in a great
hurry, however, I cannot fathom why that would be the case. Perfect for my
needs, I've continued with my experiments. Thankfully there have been no
distractions save that of some peculiar whistling and moaning sounds. The
occasional white shape flits past the windows, but it is obviously nothing of
importance. Been thinking about those strange chaps I stumbled across in the
cemetery earlier and wondering about the whole life and death situation.
Perhaps there is a way to banish death forever? Now that would be something
I'm sure would win me the Gnobel Prize for Innovation!

Entry 5 :
------------
Those irritating shapes have begun banging on my windows. Obviously animals,
they couldn't possibly be ghosts. Every Gnome worth his salt knows there is no
such thing! After some careful consideration I have decided to hang some
"Ultimate Gnomish Holy Symbols" blessed by a kind Gnomish Priestess, merely for
decoration of course. I am definitely not worried in the slightest by these
*the word ghosts has been crossed out* animals. I've begun my studies in
earnest to discover a way of utilising my magic to attain imortality. Work is
slow, no breakthrough yet ...

Entry 6 :

Major breakthrough! I think I have the key to attaining my certain Gnobel
Prize for Innovation.
*written in a shaky hand*
Tried new spell out tonight. Was terrible! Instead of giving life power over
death, it gave death power over life. On reflection, I think I should of mixed
more powdered newt into the spell component. Undead creatures are appearing
from every which way. I now know why this fogbank was so quiet, it was the
site of an ancient battle between the drow and elves. Creatures are definitely
not friendly either, however, I was able to escape back to my cottage and lock
myself in. Luckily the undead move rather slow and cannot cross the pool of
mud that now serves as a barrier to guard entrance to my cottage. Strangely
enough those white shapes are gone .. perhaps they've found bodies to inhabit
now, I shudder to think. Anyhow, I tried escaping today using my "Ultimate
Gnomish Holy Symbols" however the undead creations just plucked them from my
fingers, tearing them to splinters. I ran back to my cottage as fast as I
could. If only I had spent some time learning that silly teleport spell Rimoah
always babbled about. Oh well, I'm stuck.
